Estidama Pearl Building Rating System (PBRS) Practice Exam

Earning 2 credit points for having a minimum of 70% native/adaptive species aligns with the goals of the Estidama Pearl Building Rating System (PBRS) in promoting ecological enhancement. The inclusion of native and adaptive species in landscaping is essential for maintaining biodiversity, supporting local ecosystems, and reducing reliance on non-native species that may require excessive water or maintenance.

In the context of PBRS, the requirement for a minimum percentage of native/adaptive species emphasizes the importance of incorporating plant species that are well-suited to the local climate and conditions. Such integration not only enhances the ecological value of the landscape but also contributes to sustainable practices by minimizing water use and fertilization needs.

The rating system incentivizes developments to adopt these practices, and achieving more than 70% native/adaptive species reflects a commitment to environmental stewardship. As a result, the reward of 2 credit points signifies a substantial contribution to ecological enhancement, reinforcing the foundational principles of sustainable building practices in the region.
